Tasty teas, dim sum, and pastries at Yauatcha Houston
Originally from London, Yauatcha has locations in India, Hawaii, and Saudi Arabia and now also opened in the Galleria area in Houston. Lucky for us, as this Chinese dim sum spot, teahouse, and patisserie serves incredible food and drinks! Right after its opening, the hubs and I went to check it our for date night and Hipster Hotspots.
When you enter through the blue glass doors, you immediately see the hand-made petit gateaux and macarons reminding you to leave some room for dessert. Or, if you can’t resist yourself with the dim sum, you can ask for these goodies to be packaged for takeaway. Their modern, spacious restaurant has several areas. We chose to be seated in the bustling dining room with a view of the open kitchen, but you can also opt for the dimly-lit lounge with twinkly stars on the ceiling.
The menu of Yauatcha includes a wide selection of dim sum, cocktails and more than 60 types of tea. So good, that within a year of opening in Soho, London, the restaurant received its Michelin star and has a been able to keep it ever since. Fortunately their prices are quite reasonable for the quality food and service they offer. So whether you’re planning a date night, business lunch, or dinner in style with friends, Yauatcha is certainly worth a visit!
