It’s hard to find a list of the best healthy restaurants in Houston that doesn’t include True Food Kitchen. And for good reason! Their menu includes lots of different healthy smoothies, bowls, sandwiches, salads, and signature dishes like the Spaghetti Squash Casserole and Inside Out Quinoa Burger. Plus, True Food Kitchen is a seasonal restaurant, which means that their menu changes regularly to include ingredients at the peak of their freshness.
(Poké Bowl + the Bright Eyes and Kale & Coconut Smoothie)
Perfect for: your healthy lifestyle
Offering lots of nutrition-packed and flavorful options on the menu, this restaurant is a must-visit for those who embrace a healthy and active lifestyle. With a husband who works out six times a week and friends who like to combine yoga and brunch, you can find me at this spot on a regular basis. Luckily, the risk of running out of healthy options to choose from for breakfast, lunch, or dinner is close to zero. Especially since their menu changes on a seasonal basis to work with the best ingredients.
(Vegetarian Garden Scramble and Torched Avocado + Green Curry Cauliflower Soup and Banana Muffin)
Perfect for: Vegetarian, Vegan & Gluten Free diets
Healthy food is not the only reason for visiting True Food Kitchen. This spot also offers many options for when you’re vegan, vegetarian or on a gluten free diet. It’s ideal for when I meet up with a group of friends as there’s a lot to choose from for everyone. Each dish is conveniently marked on the menu as V (vegan), VEG (vegetarian) or GF (gluten-free) so you don’t have to guess or ask!
(Kids Chicken Teriyaki Bowl)
Perfect for: Kids
My friends with kids are also excited about this spot as their special kids menu provides healthy and tasty options. Not the standard chicken nuggets and fries, but nutritious dishes such as the Almond Butter, Banana & Apple Sandwich and this Chicken-Teriyaki Bowl. When you try to eat fresh and healthy meals, you want the same for your kids, right?
Besides the good food and drinks, I also love the green and fresh decor at True Food Kitchen; it’s a perfect reflection of their concept! You can sit inside and watch the chefs prepare your food (there’s nothing secret about the way they prepare their dishes) or sit outside on the relaxed patio that offers plenty of shade.
