Fresh Oysters and a cozy decor at State of Grace Houston
State of Grace is the perfect spot for when I have something to celebrate or when my girlfriends and I feel like catching up in style over brunch and mimosas (so basically every weekend..). Located in the Lamar-River Oaks Shopping Center, this place breathes elegance and quality and offers great service and comfy seating.
The menu created by Executive Chef Bobby Matos has influences from all over the world: southern, American, Latin, Gulf Coast, German, and Asian. They are renowned for their Hushpuppies, Seafood, and Oysters. They even have a separate Oyster Room with a dedicated raw menu and Oyster Happy Hours. For brunch, I ordered the Smoked Tomato Soup with cheese croquettes which was poured into the bowl right at the table. One of my friends ordered the Dutch Baby with whipped cream and strawberries. Besides the fact that it looked amazing, it was also very appropriate as she announced that she’s in fact expecting a little Dutch baby in March. Extra mimosas and a virgin cocktail for the table! Another plus factor of State of Grace is their decor; it’s modern and warm at the same time and I love how they managed to create different rooms and corners that give the large space a cozy feel. This restaurant is most certainly worth checking out!
