Seafood and soul food at Little Liberty in Houston
F.E.E.D. TX, the restaurant group behind Liberty Kitchen and BRC, just opened its latest concept in Rice Village. What used to be the space of Ruggles Cafe & Bakery is now revamped into Little Liberty.
I love what they have done to the place. The space is open and bright and they beautifully combine the wooden floor with metal chairs, comfortable booths, and a cozy wallpaper. They also have a great open patio that is perfect for relaxed outdoor dining. Little Liberty opens every day at 8am for breakfast, serving oats, yoghurt, sandwiches, breakfast tacos, and eggs. The lunch and dinner menus offer a large variety of seafood and soul food options. We ordered the wood grilled & carnita’d pork belly as an appetizer, which was simply delicious. The utimate combination of crispy and soft! It encouraged me to order the cheesy shrimp & grits which came with this perfectly prepared meat. For my fellow foodies out there, it might be interesting to know that they also serve Hawaiian poke salad, one of the hottest food trends of this year!
