Southern food and a buzzy atmosphere at Eloise Nichols Houston
Siblings Katie Barnhart and Nick Adair (the duo behind Adair Kitchen and the new Bebidas) established this restaurant in River Oaks inspired by their grandmother Eloise Nichols. Their Southern menu, vintage decor, and buzzy atmosphere form the perfect place for a dinner date with the hubs or brunch with the girls.
At Eloise Nichols, executive chef Joseph Stayshich creates traditional Southern dishes with a modern twist such as Texas Shrimp & Grits, Pastrami Pork Ribs, and Caramelized Brussels Sprouts. Also on the menu: fresh oysters and variety of cocktails. If you’re looking for a tasty and instagrammable drink, order the Spirit Animal. This signature cocktail mixes vodka, pineapple, and lime and is served in a pretty brass pineapple. The restaurant places high importance on locally sourced ingredients and works with well-known purveyors like Kraftsmen Bakery, 44 Farms, and Amy’s Ice Creams.
Eloise Nichols opens seven days a week for lunch and dinner and offers weekend brunch. They’re located close to River Oaks District, so next time you’re on a shopping spree or going to the movies at iPic, this would be an excellent spot to combine it with.
