Whether your ideal New Year’s Eve is a 5-course dinner with your loved one or a party with friends; Houston has it all! In this blogpost you can read about my favorite events and restaurants to go to on December 31st to say goodbye to 2017 and start the new year. New events are being announced every day, so I’ll be adding to the list. Let the countdown for 2018 begin!
Samba dancers, live music, a DJ, and a champagne toast; at Bar Boheme the party will be on! If you want to be sure of a table on their patio, don’t forget to make a reservation. Reserved tables will be seated as early as 9 PM. They will have some tables available for walk-ins on a first come, first serve base. Go to their website.
At Hungry’s you can ring in the new year in one of their two restaurants (Rice Village or Memorial) with a 4-course dinner. In their fancy Upstairs Bar Lounge at Hungry’s Rice Village, they’re hosting a New Year’s Eve celebration with bar bites, a DJ, and a midnight champagne toast. You can buy general admission tickets or go VIP with a table and Moët Chandon Brut Champagne bottle service. If you can’t make it New Year’s Eve, you can also go to their New Year’s Day brunch offered at both locations. Go to their website.
After last year’s success, the laid-back New Year’s Eve returns at Axelrad. At this free event you can expect music on 2 stages, visual installations, hammocks, pizza, and drinks! They will have a Discoball NYE countdown and a complimentary Bubbly Toast at Midnight. Go to their Facebook page.
This restaurant offers two different dining experiences under one roof. At The Pass you can reserve a table for a 7 course tasting menu in an upscale, elegant atmosphere with a view of the chefs at work. Alternatively, you can choose for a 4 course prix fixe menu at Provisions and enjoy your evening in a relaxed, urban rustic setting. Go to their website.
The Houston Zoo transformed into a Winter Wonderland! Stroll through the beautiful zoo grounds with a hot chocolate and let more than two million twinkling lights lead your way. It’s the perfect family event and a true holiday tradition. On December 31st, the zoo will be open until 11PM so you can head to your next destination to officially kiss 2017 goodbye at midnight. Aces of Taste hosts interactive pop-up dinners throughout Houston, working with restaurant chefs and personal chefs. Their events are a must-visit for foodies!
